At times thwarted.

Regressive response?
Maybe so, maybe not.
Proactive pondering?
Definitely maybe.

Desire satiation,
Like the ambitious salmon,
Upstream swimming,
Soon devoured by a bear.

Oh sweet strenuous rush
Sometimes invigorating, sometimes toxic,
No warning labels
Or overtly noticeable speed bumps.

Momentary lapse
Of cognizant comprehension
Yields the inverse
Of heartfelt intentions.

Recursive realization and rue,
The elixir of palatable perplexity,
Averts benevolent atonement
Or grounding awareness.
